This approach recognizes that each patient is unique and that a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment may not be effective for everyone. In pharmacology, precision medicine involves identifying specific biomarkers that are indicative of a patient's disease and using this information to develop targeted therapies. For example, a drug may be developed that targets a specific gene mutation that is responsible for a patient's cancer.
