A connection between oral sickness/periodontitis and rheumatoid joint torment (RA) has been considered since the 1820. The early treatment was tooth destruction. The prevalence of RA and periodontitis may be comparable, according to epidemiological studies, and approximately 5% of the population is over 50 years old.
