This article explores the environmental considerations associated with electrowinning, a pivotal hydrometallurgical process for metal recovery. Electrowinning, while efficient, has traditionally posed challenges in terms of energy consumption, electrolyte choice, and waste management. The paper discusses recent advancements in electrowinning technology aimed at reducing energy intensity and environmental impact.
