The osteopathic curriculum consists of all the traditional disciplines: anatomy, behavioural science, biochemistry, biostatistics, embryology, genetics, histology, immunology, microbiology, pathology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and physiology. Osteopathic medical students often study the same textbooks used in allopathic schools, and was taught by DOs as well as MDs.
