Introduction: Nowadays, the impact of chronic neurological pathology on the patient is heavy on several plans. This returns the accompaniment male nurse a pillar in the assumption of responsibility. The male nurse role is a pivot role but remains little developed. From where the goal of our work is to evaluate the male nurse role in the accompaniment of the patients reached of a chronic neurological disease. Method: It is about a descriptive and analytical study which was interested in the evaluation of the accompaniment male nurse of the patients reached of a chronic neurological pathology. We carried out a questionnaire near 50 male nurses working in various services of the Principal Military Hospital of Instruction of Tunis and at the National Institute of Neurology Mongi Ben Hamida. Results: More than three quarters of the people interviewed worked at the principal military Hospital of instruction of Tunis and a quarter worked at the national institute of neurology Mongi Ben Hamida. Concerning the patient, the cerebral vascular accidents were chronic neurological pathologies the most reported by the male nurses i.e. 16%. Whereas the migraine, the cephalgias, the epilepsy were reported in less than 15% of variation. The majority of our population is 80% found that the integration of the patient in the therapeutic process was important. Less than half of the population found that the relation looking after/neat is mainly based on the respect. While confidence, the communication and listening were found in less than 30% of variation. Eighty-two percent of the questioned population declared that there are no formations which aim at the improvement of the accompaniment male nurse of a patient reached of pathological a neurological chronicle. Conclusion: Under the terms of our work, we must carry out a survey into ground since their behaviour should be evaluated of a more objective eye by a grid of evaluation of the accompaniment of a patient in neurology and a check list in order to guarantee the effectiveness of the assumption of responsibility of the ancillary medical personnel and to increase the reliability of our results.
