Taking care of a family member with Alzheimer’s disease is a hard and long journey. In this article, we will see that situations are heterogeneous. There are moments of breaks, steps to take, discontinuities and unfortunately an end to this journey. Here, we will see that depending on the situation (children or spouses, the caregiver’s gender), the individual’s enrollment in a system of help within the community, and the family support: the help and its intensity can be very different. We will also see that this caregiving situation is above all a situation of interdependence between different actors: Professionals, the family and the person with Alzheimer’s.
