Inherent Ethical Challenges in Chemical Research

Chemistry is one of the branches of science that deals with the substances of which matter is made up of, the investigation on their properties and reactions, and the utility of such reactions to form new products which will be useful to the common man and the society at large. Ethics can be considered as the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation. Research, in simple terms can be defined as a detailed study of a subject, especially in order to discover (new) information a (new) understanding .As ethics paves way for the most useful discovery/invention for human beings with minimum risks involved in the process, it has to be given primary importance. Hence in any type of research and especially in Chemical Research a deep understanding of ethics and a good knowledge of Philosophy are essential to balance the good from the evil.
